Wink offers early intervention services to children from 1 to 6 years-old, who have developmental difficulties or have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We use play-based interventions in which we apply the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Wink is the first institution in Ecuador to have a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

The process of services at Wink begins with an initial appointment with the parents and the child to determine if real difficulties are found in their development, identify the immediate needs, resolve any additional questions of the family and if it is the case, evaluate the child. Later, the skills and needs of the child are assessed in several one to one sessions with the child and the instructor. Based on the results of this evaluation, an individualized intervention plan is created and delivered using the principles of ABA and play to create an environment in which the child learns in a natural and fun way.

Diana Febres-Cordero, MA, BCBA, CABAS ® Teacher 1

Diana is the second Board Certified Behavior Analyst in Ecuador. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in Elementary Special Education and a Master’s degree from Columbia University in Teaching as Applied Behavior Analysis. Diana has more than six years of experience working with children with disabilities, the last three being directly related to autism intervention and diagnosis. Her experience mainly revolves around developing communication skills, social skills, independence and academic skills in children with autism.

Anarosy Torres, BS, RBT®
Special Education Teacher - Registered Behavior Technician

Anarosy has a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago in Early Childhood Special Education with an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement. Anarosy has five years of experience working in different early childhood intervention centers, home-based programs, preschools, and elementary schools in and outside the country. The last year Anarosy spent in the states, she worked as a special education teacher in a blended preschool classroom, where in collaboration with other professionals she was responsible for creating and modifying individualized intervention plans for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental delays, as well as adapting the school’s curriculum so that all students could access it. Anarosy is currently doing her Master’s degree in Professional Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology.
